School Report Card

It's time for Fall Break, MCIS Families! Students will return to school on Monday, October 19. Until then, here is some information for wrapping up this grading period and heading into the fall season.

  • Students who had zero chronicles in the month of September will receive a small treat and recognition when we return and hold our PBIS town hall meetings on Monday. We are excited to take this time to recognize students who consistently meet or exceed behavior expectations. All students are also receiving PBIS points and the PBIS store is in full swing! Students are able to place orders for items and fun activities throughout the week.

  • We were happy to partner with the Mason County Smile Clubs to support "Your Name Matters" this pas week. At the end of this newsletter, you'll see a graphic with some name themed conversation starters to discuss with your child, if you're interested!

  • Parent Teacher Conferences and the MCIS Annual Title 1 Meeting will be held on Thursday, October 22, with in person timeslots from 4:30-6:30. Teachers will be posting (if they haven't already) and sending communication for how to sign up for a time to meet with the team. There are also options for phone conferences, if that is more convenient for you. Reach out to your child's teachers if you have questions or need more information about conferences. Teachers are also in the process of scheduling meetings with students who will be receiving a math or reading improvement plan, and these may be held in conjunction with parent-teacher conferences.

  • The grading period ends on Friday, October 23, with report cards coming home the following week.

  • Students should have brough home picture proofs and fundraiser packets throughout the week. These funds generated will help support field trips and other experiences for students. Thank you for your support of our school.

  • When we return from Fall Break, there will be optional themed dress up days district wide to honor Digital Citizenship Week. Communication regarding those days will be shared as it is finalized.

  • The last week of October is always Red Ribbon Week across the country. Those themed days, in partnership with our FRYSC department, will be announced soon as well. Students will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school on Friday, October 30. Masks will be permitted during the costume festivities, but not throughout the school day.

  • You can keep track of school events and dates using our Living Calendar, found here.

Thanks for a great start to the school year, and enjoy a safe Fall Break!
