winter news

Welcome to the busy holiday season, MCIS Family! Here are some announcements that will help you plan and stay organized throughout the month!

  • If you haven't already, please return the permission slip for students to attend The Nutcracker at MCTC on Friday, 12/5.

  • Students will be able to shop Reindeer Lane for family and friends, starting Monday 12/8. Specific information about this Christmas shopping event will be sent home this week.

  • Students will be taking their iReady math and reading tests on 12/10 and 12/11, in the morning. Please help us by making every effort to have your students at school on those days.

  • Students are working on earning ornaments as part of our December PBIS Challenge. Each week, we are focusing on one of our PBIS schoolwide expectations: Respect yourself, respect others, and respect this place. Students who earn ornaments at school will be given a paper ornament to bring home to show their families as well. On 12/18, any student who has earned three ornaments will be participating in a reward!

  • Individual student KSA score reports (state test scores) will be sent home right after Christmas Break, with 2nd 9 week report cards and Winter iReady scores. We are in the process of planning a fun reward to celebrate students' KSA successes.

  • A reminder that students have 5 in-person school days to complete NTI work, after the NTI day has occurred. If you need extra copies of your student's NTI work, please let us know.

  • Watch backpacks for information about Mason County Band Winterguard Cadets. This is open to students in grades 3-6, and will meet after school on Tuesdays, January through March.
